For DJ Ricky Ricardo, music has always been more than just a passion—it’s been a constant, a thread woven through every chapter of his life. From his earliest memories as a child fascinated by sound, to becoming a teenager immersed in the music world, Ricky’s connection to music was undeniable. While his family saw it as a hobby or a “party trick,” his friends and teachers recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue it. Yet, like many, Ricky followed the path society laid out for him, exploring careers in firefighting, the medical field, corporate roles, and even education. Though he excelled in these areas, music remained the one true constant in his life.

What’s remarkable about Ricky’s career in music is that it wasn’t something he set out to achieve—it simply happened. During his 20s and 30s, Ricky found himself traveling between New York and Miami, immersed in every facet of the music industry. Whether producing tracks, building and repairing studios, or teaching others the art of audio production, Ricky wore nearly every hat imaginable. His resume reads like a master class in the music business: producer, engineer, writer, artist, manager, studio owner, record label founder, artist developer, audio professor, studio designer, audio software representative, consultant, editor, and administrative director.

Ricky’s journey also took him beyond borders, traveling the world as part of the support team for some of America’s top DJs. This global experience not only deepened his appreciation for the power of music to connect people but also gave him firsthand insight into what it takes to deliver unforgettable performances on some of the biggest stages.

Among the many highlights of his career, Ricky holds a special place for the collaborations that turned colleagues into family. From performing as an artist in major nightclubs with friends to sharing intimate studio spaces with incredible talent, these moments have shaped not only his career but also his life. Working alongside legends like DJ Times Magazine’s America’s Top DJ and “The Godfather of Trance,” George Acosta, and the iconic producer and spiritualist Laura Ford—who boasts over 100 gold and platinum records to her name—Ricky found inspiration and connection that transcend music.

In addition to his work as a DJ and producer, Ricky has also collaborated with some of the most influential software companies in the music production industry. His partnerships with Avid (ProTools), IK Multimedia, UA Audio, FXpansion, and Waves have allowed him to stay at the forefront of audio technology, providing him with the tools to push creative boundaries and elevate his craft. These collaborations reflect Ricky’s technical expertise and his dedication to innovation in the ever-evolving music landscape.

Now, after over 30 years in the music industry, Ricky finds himself more inspired than ever.
